Orbison "Whirligig" Revealed
Beetle Bridges
Science and Art- The International
Institute for Species Exploration commissions a new beetle art
piece. "Whirligig" was
given to Barbara Orbison, the widow of the Roy Orbison during the
January 25, 2008 tribute concert. The piece is based on the beetle Gyrinidae (Coleoptera), Orectochilus orbisonorum, sp. nov,
found in India. The beetle's patronym name (orbisonorum)
comes from the musician Roy Orbison and his wife Barbara.

The 2007 July 28th broadcast of the The Science Show featured an
interview with Charles Kazilek from the Paper Project. The Science
Show, a product of Australian Broadcasting Corporation, is the
longest running radio science show and is hosted by Robyn Williams.
